Flekkefjord harbour has a clear focus on preparedness and safety to ensure safe traffic and operations for both maritime traffic and port users.
The port follows national and international requirements for port security and emergency plans, and collaborates closely with the fire department, police, the Norwegian Coastal Administration, customs and the Armed Forces.
Flekkefjord harbour is an important supporter of the exercise of authority in Norwegian waters. The port regularly receives military vessels. Allied vessels are also welcome, provided that the necessary permits from the Norwegian authorities are available.
Regular risk assessments, drills and equipment maintenance are carried out to prevent accidents and handle incidents such as fire, pollution or extreme weather. Rescue equipment, good lighting and clear notification routines contribute to a safe and efficient harbour .
The goal is to maintain a safe, environmentally friendly and emergency-ready harbour which safeguards both people, the environment and values in Flekkefjord.
