Waiting berth & port of refuge

Flekkefjord harbour is a safe and well-protected harbour in Southern Norway, and functions both as waiting berth and a port of refuge for vessels along the coast. The anchorage in harbour bassin and Eschebrygga is located at the innermost part of the narrow and sheltered Flekkefjord, offering safe berthing conditions during demanding weather conditions in the North Sea and Skagerrak.

Port of refuge restrictions:

  • Anchor position, harbor basin : max LOA 110 meters, max depth 8 meters.
  • Abelnes: max. LOA 110 meters, max. depth 6 meters
  • Eschebrygga: max. LOA 180 meters, max. depth 7.3 meters - Vessels over 150 meters only after approval from the Master.
